How to use
Wearables stay with your body all day. They are designed to disappear into your routine, and a few simple habits keep the experience safe, comfortable and accurate. This page gathers the official usage recommendations for Halo devices. Read it before you start using your product and come back whenever you need.
Halo Ring
-
Fit and placement
Wear the Halo Ring with the sensors facing your palm. The ideal fit is snug enough that the ring doesn't spin freely, but not so tight that it marks the skin or restricts circulation. We recommend the index, middle or ring finger of your non-dominant hand.
If you notice marks, tingling or warmth in the finger, the ring may be too tight. Try a different finger or measure again.
-
Contact with water
The Halo Ring is IP68 certified and water resistant to 5 ATM, handling dives of up to 50 meters for 30 minutes.
One important habit still applies: whenever it comes into contact with water, sweat, soap, lotion or any other liquid, take the ring off and dry both your finger and the product well before putting it back on. Moisture trapped between the ring and the skin can cause irritation, even with regular gold or silver jewelry.
-
After your workout
Sweat building up on the inner surface of the ring during exercise is natural. After your workout, take off the Halo Ring, wipe it with a soft dry cloth and dry your finger well before putting it back on. Switching fingers between workouts also helps avoid prolonged pressure on the same spot.
-
Blood oxygen monitoring
Blood oxygen monitoring uses red and infrared LEDs that run continuously and generate heat. If the ring is too tight, the heat may not dissipate properly, raising the risk of discomfort, irritation or a photosensitive skin reaction.
For most users, we recommend turning off continuous blood oxygen monitoring in the app and taking spot measurements only when needed. This keeps wearing it comfortable and also extends battery life.
-
Cleaning
Clean your Halo Ring regularly with water and mild soap, using a soft cloth or a soft-bristle brush on the sensors. Rinse well and dry completely before putting it back on. Avoid abrasive products, high-concentration alcohol or solvents.
Halo Band
-
Fit and placement
Wear the Halo Band snug enough that the sensor stays in constant contact with your skin, but without squeezing your wrist. A good test is being able to slide one finger between the band and your skin without forcing it.
Switching wrists from time to time helps prevent irritation from prolonged pressure on one spot.
-
Contact with water and sweat
The Halo Band is water resistant and can be worn in the shower, in the pool and during workouts. Still, we recommend taking it off after long periods of contact with water or sweat, washing the inside of the band and drying it well before putting it back on.
The fabric strap absorbs sweat easily. Washing it under running water with mild soap at least twice a week is essential to keep it comfortable and avoid residue buildup that can irritate the skin.
-
Sensor cleaning
The inner part of the sensor, which touches your skin directly, should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and mild soap. Dry it completely before putting it back on.
Warning signs
Watch your skin during the first days of use. Light marks that fade within minutes of taking the product off are normal. The signs below need attention:
-
Persistent redness
-
Itching or burning
-
Peeling or dryness
-
Blisters, swelling or localized pain
If any of these signs appear, take the product off right away, clean your skin well and let it rest. In most cases, the irritation clears up within a few days. If symptoms last more than three days, see a dermatologist.
Important
Halo products are wellness devices, not medical equipment, and do not replace professional evaluation, diagnosis or treatment. The care described on this page is part of using the product correctly. Problems caused by improper use, such as keeping the device in prolonged contact with moisture, wearing it too tight or neglecting cleaning, are not manufacturing defects.
